Target:
To have a qualified mental health first aider available 24 hours a day
We treat our visitors and teams as if they were guests in our own homes. That means we have a duty of care to look after their wellbeing. We take seriously our legal obligations to look after their health and safety and think that it's equally important to ensure we are a safe space for people to feel good and function well. We want everybody to have access to resources that can help them if they're down, to have access to facilities if they need advice, or if they just need to get away from the noise and contemplate quietly.
Mental Health First Aid
We are committed to having a qualified Mental Health First Aider available across our hotels and venues, providing essential mental health support for both our team and guests.
To achieve this goal, we are about to begin a comprehensive training program to equip selected team members with the skills needed to offer immediate assistance, whether that’s offering a listening ear, guiding someone through a challenging moment, or connecting them to further resources. This initiative reflects our dedication to creating a supportive and compassionate environment, with the aim of ensuring that everyone who visits or works with us feels safe, valued, and cared for at any time of day or night.
Free access to gym and leisure facilities
As part of our commitment to social responsibility and the wellbeing of those who stay or work with us, we provide free access to Burleigh Springs, our onsite gym and leisure facilities at Burleigh Court. By making these resources available, we aim to support physical and mental health, offering our team and guests a space to unwind, exercise, and prioritise self-care. We recognise that wellbeing goes beyond the workplace and believe that creating opportunities for relaxation and fitness helps foster a healthier, more balanced community. This initiative reflects our dedication to looking after the people who make our spaces thrive.
Building Belonging
We are a Disability Confident employer, committed to creating a workplace that’s inclusive, accessible, and supportive of all abilities.
At the Elite Athlete Centre and Burleigh Court, we take pride in offering high levels of accessibility across our venues, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a seamless experience. We regularly host Paralympic athletes, which has given us valuable insight into the unique needs of our guests with disabilities.
We work closely with our team members to understand and meet their specific requirements, always striving to offer the best working enviroment for everyone. It’s all part of our commitment to inclusivity, where everyone is welcome and valued.
